Michael Krugman (1951-2016) was known by tango lovers for his blog with discussions and translations tango lyrics,
Tango Decoder, and later for his research into the advertisements for tango dances and what they revealed, the
Tango Time Machine. He passed away in December 2016 and is terribly missed by those who knew him. I met him in Buenos Aires in April 2015, when we arranged to have a coffee at the
Bar Británico and found a great deal to talk about. Michael was working on a book related to the Tango Time Machine which we agreed I would publish. Sadly, it was never completed.
As Michael’s web pages are now offline, there was a danger that some of this material could be lost. I am therefore (slowly) reproducing the Tango Decoder here.
